Deep House Archives Vol. 32 - Back Room

Six months after the last update (way too long, we know...), Deep House Archives return with a double offering, right on time for Thanksgiving. Back Door, mixed by Theo Zanos, blends fresh, soul infused, deep house sounds with never failing deep tech strokes to create an elaborate journey through the indomitable new school of deep house producers. To top this off, we offer the first part (out of three) of a live recording from a special event held at one of the coolest loud bars in Greece, Open Bar at the city of Kavala.

Deep House Archives Vol. 31 - Better Days

Greetings,

The latest installment of the Deep House Archives comes, as per the blog's traditions, right before the official start of the summer season. "Better Days", mixed by Theo Zanos, is filled with the latest offerings of the nu disco genre, a style featured almost a year ago in this blog with the 24th DHA volume. Although nu disco has been receiving increased attention lately, several artists managed to retain the originality and freshness of their sound until now and this mix provides a testament to their creative abilities. Named after the legendary NYC club, where the late Loleatta Holloway performed the "My Loleatta" acapella featured in the mix, the new DHA update provides the right soundtrack to welcome those better days ahead.

This DHA update is a special one. March of 2011 marks the 4th year since the revival of the Deep House Archives website and the update to celebrate this, happens to be the 30th of the podcast. Surely, in this issue, the blog returns once again to its signature sound with "Red Flag Act", mixed by Theo Zanos. Deep House Archives Vol. 29 - Static Vamp

Greetings,

DHA welcomes the new year in it's usual late fashion, but makes up for the wait with a double offering, a first of hopefully many. First off, the 29th volume of the podcast, "Static Vamp", mixed by Theo Zanos. The new mix dives into the sophisticated rhythm programming and loop sequencing of funky and tech house, in a blend that makes both styles almost indistinguishable. The new breed of talented producers of this emerging genre, provides a plethora of songs, perfect for a musical journey that won't leave anyone standing still.

The second offering, in soundcloud format only, is a live recording from our weekly Friday residency @ Suite 701, at Montreal, Quebec. The portion of the set, recorded on 14th of January features cutting edge deep and tech house. Tracklist won't be provided for the live sets, although you can always comment here or on the soundcloud page to ask for a specific track id.
